Adeboye Shares Story of RCCG Pastor Arrested Abroad for Saying ‘Ladies and Gentlemen’

Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has expressed his concern about the growing moral decline worldwide. During his sermon on the topic “My Father’s House” at the RCCG national headquarters in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, he shared an unsettling story about one of the church’s pastors who was arrested abroad for simply addressing an audience as “ladies and gentlemen.”

Pastor Adeboye explained that the pastor’s greeting was deemed discriminatory, with some individuals claiming it was exclusionary to those who don’t identify as either “ladies” or “gentlemen.”

He also recounted a bizarre incident where a woman referred to her dog as her “husband.” When asked about her spouse, she described taking the dog to the vet and explained it didn’t speak. “Brethren, we are closer to the end than ever before,” he lamented.

Highlighting the worsening moral state of the world, Pastor Adeboye warned that “the end is nearer than you think” and urged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith. He emphasized the importance of not being swayed by the moral decline of society, stressing that genuine commitment to God is vital as “Jesus is coming back.”

Pastor Adeboye further reflected on the moral integrity of past generations, noting their reverence for God and adherence to His commandments. He called on Christians to strive to return to that level of godliness and commitment.
