Police Arrest 22 Suspects for Cattle Rustling, Robbery in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Police have apprehended 22 individuals in connection with armed robbery, cattle rustling, and vandalism.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, spokesperson for the Jigawa State Police Command, confirmed the arrests in a statement. He stated that the suspects are members of criminal gangs responsible for disturbing the peace in the region.

The statement read, “The Jigawa State Police Command has successfully arrested 22 individuals involved in armed robbery, vandalism, cattle rustling, and other serious crimes across the state.”

Recovered items from the suspects include Bajaj and Lifan motorcycles, copper wire, three Tecno mobile phones, armor cable wire, a cow, a ram, a laptop, a POP 7 GSM handset, ceiling fans, two 600A battery cells, tools like saws, spanners, diggers, hoes, and scissors, among others.

The suspects, who have reportedly confessed to their involvement in the crimes, will be prosecuted in court.
