President Bola Tinubu has extended his congratulations to Dr. Bolu Ogunyemi, a respected Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland, on his recent election as President-elect of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu praised Dr. Ogunyemi, a distinguished dermatologist based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, for his significant achievement. Dr. Ogunyemi has also served as a visiting specialist in Labrador City since 2018.
The statement described Dr. Ogunyemi’s election as a recognition of his visionary leadership, commitment to excellence, and dedication to improving the welfare of others. It also highlighted his 15 years of leadership experience and deep expertise in medical science as key qualifications for this prestigious role.
President Tinubu expressed confidence that Dr. Ogunyemi’s upcoming formal approval at the CMA’s Annual General Meeting in May 2025 will enable him to further strengthen the association. He encouraged Dr. Ogunyemi to continue his work with inclusivity and a focus on collaboration, embracing all those who contested the position as partners in progress.
