Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State will commission Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s Lagos Upcycled Bottle Christmas Tree, an eco-friendly initiative demonstrating sustainability and creativity, on 21st December 2024. This will be at the Ikeja City Mall Car Park, and be open for public appreciation.

With the theme: “Sustainability Meets Festivity,” the innovative project is designed to transform approximately 2,500 empty Jameson bottles into a stunning work of upcycled art, promoting environmental responsibility and community engagement

The company which is the world’s second-largest wine and spirits company, is set to make the yuletide merrier for fun-seekers with the unveiling of the innovation.

According to the company’s Managing Director, Michael Ehindero,” the initiative seeks to promote sustainability and environmental awareness, showcasing creative re-use of materials, to foster community engagement and social responsibility”.

This initiative is in line with the company’s four pillars of business which include nurturing terroir, valuing people, circular making, and responsible hosting.

The activations will span across a 12-day period, representing the famous “Twelve Days of Christmas,” and underscores Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s dedication to becoming a fortress for the youth, while inspiring them towards sustainable practices.

Mr. Ehindero stated that the collaboration with Lagos State stems from Governor Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to promoting a circular economy and sustainable development which strongly aligns with Pernod Ricard Nigeria’s Sustainability and Responsibility Roadmap.
