Two Dead, 15 Injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

A fatal accident involving a Toyota Hiace bus at Saapade on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway has claimed two lives and left 15 others injured.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) spokesperson in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, confirmed the incident on Thursday in Abeokuta.
Okpe reported that the accident occurred at 4:34 p.m. on Thursday due to a tyre burst, which caused the driver to lose control, leading the bus to somersault and crash.
The bus, with registration number LSR 585 YH, was carrying 18 passengers, including nine men, five women, two boys, and two girls.
Casualties:
– Injured: 15 people (8 men, 4 women, 2 boys, 1 girl).
– Deceased: 2 people (1 man and 1 woman).
The injured victims were taken to PATMAG Hospital in Ogere, while the deceased were deposited at the State General Hospital morgue in Isara.
The FRSC Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, urged motorists to prioritize vehicle maintenance, especially during periods of increased vehicular movement.
