35-Year-Old Man Mobbed for Allegedly Stealing Church Keyboard

A 35-year-old man, identified as Ismaila, was severely beaten by an angry mob on Wednesday in the Okumagba area of Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, for allegedly stealing a church keyboard.

The mob, after attacking him, placed a motor tire around his neck and paraded him from Willie Street to Okumagba Avenue.

The suspect sustained serious injuries, including a bruised head, as the mob prepared to set him ablaze. However, mobile police officers arrived at the scene in time to rescue him. They transported the suspect to the “B” Division Police Station, assuring the public that he would confess and expose any accomplices.

Despite the intervention, the mob expressed frustration, criticizing the police for preventing them from burning the suspect to deter others from committing similar crimes.

At the time of this report, the suspect had been taken into police custody.
