The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA, has inspected some critical infrastructure projects in the state.

These include the Marina and Mile 2 Transit Interchange hubs and the Blue Line Train Service Phase 2 from Mile 2 to Okokomaiko.

The Managing Director of LAMATA, Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo led a technical team on the inspection tour.

She said that the agency is committed to making public transportation the preferred mode of commuting for Lagosians.

According to her, the transit interchanges at Marina and Mile 2 are crucial hubs that will connect all modes of transportation – Road, Rail, Water and non-motorized transport seamlessly.

She said that the interchanges are part of the thirteen identified in the Lagos Strategic Transport Masterplan and the two hubs would be delivered within the next thirteen months.

On the Blue Line Rail Phase 2 project, she said that the project has achieved about thirty percent completion.
