By Fly Cable News

The Lagos State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA has ramped up its Surveillance and Investigation of Illegal Dumping of wastes in the state.

This is in line with its mandate and initiative to eradicate illegal waste black spots across the state.

In a statement, LAWMA says it has executed its inaugural 12- hour Pin-down operation at a black spot along the Iyana-Ipaja Egbeda-Idimu corridor.

It says that fifty people including scavengers were apprehended, some of whom expressed their willingness to volunteer for the cleanup of the road median.

The statement says several other individuals were traced back to their residences for additional investigation.

It adds that black spot was neutralized, achieving a one hundred percent clearance, facilitated by the deployment of the newly introduced trash camera technology.
