President Bola Tinubu says African leaders will strip the continent of poverty and build a resilient economy at their own pace.
He stated this in Accra, Ghana, at the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as the new President, succeeding Nana Akufo-Addo, whose tenure has expired.
President Tinubu said even when sister nations would be entangled in disagrements, they would never harm each other nor never allow any outsider to hurt them nor disrupt their unity.
He told Ghanaians that their new president was a man of patriotic vision and substance, who loves his nation and its people to the core.
Describing President Mahama as a dear brother, President Tinubu said he would work with him, and assured him of Nigeria’s support and goodwill whenever needed.
President Tinubu added that with laser focus, ECOWAS could tackle the problems of the subregion, including poverty, youth unemployment, instability, insurgence, and other sundry problems hampering their desired progress.
