NYCN Hails President Tinubu for Brokering Peace Btw Wike and Fubara
The National Youth Council of Nigeria has applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive role in restoring peace between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara.
In a statement signed by the President of the Council, Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo, the NYCN described the President’s intervention as a remarkable display of leadership, which has helped de-escalate tensions and reposition Rivers State on the path of unity and development.
The Council noted that the peace brokered between the two political leaders not only strengthens governance in the oil-rich state, but also reinforces President Tinubu’s commitment to national cohesion and democratic stability.
Ambassador Sukubo stated that Rivers State, a key contributor to the nation’s economy, must be safeguarded from political turmoil, and hailed the President’s efforts as timely and strategic.
The NYCN further expressed confidence that the truce will allow governance to thrive and public resources to be redirected towards development, job creation, and youth empowerment. As part of the reconciliation process, the Council called on President Tinubu to take a further step by facilitating the full reinstatement of Sir Siminalayi Fubara as the Executive Governor of Rivers State.
