Ramadan: Ex-Kwara Speaker distributes over 50,000 bags of rice, other food items to Muslims.

In the spirit of Ramadan, the Speaker of the 8th Kwara State House of Assembly, Prof. Ali Ahmad, has commenced the distribution of over 50,000 bags of rice and other essential food items to Muslim faithful and PDP members across the three senatorial districts in Kwara State.

The distribution, which kicked off on Sunday in Ilorin, is part of Prof. Ali Ahmad’s 2025 Ramadan Activities, tagged “Community Intervention Program and State-wide Ramadan Relief Outreach.”

This initiative, focusing on providing food items to over 100,000 fasting Muslims and party faithful across the 16 local government areas of the state.

Some of the distributed items include:

– 50,000 bags of 5kg rice
– 20,000 bags of 10kg Honeywell Semovita
– Pack of 20,000 Sugar
– and other food items.

In his address, Prof. Ali Ahmad emphasized the importance of reaching out to the grassroots and supporting needy communities.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to community-driven intervention programs, including the repair of abandoned borehole water facilities across Kwara State to provide potable water to deserving communities, especially in rural areas.
