
Femi Fani-Kayode, Nigeria’s ambassador designate to Germany and APC Chieftain has taken to his official X handle to voice his displeasure over the actions of the organizers of the recently concluded opposition summit held in Ibadan, Oyo State. According to his statements, he pointed out that their threats had been noted and they should be fully prepared for the consequences.
The African Democratic Congress, ADC in partnership with different political parties recently held an opposition summit in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Saturday April 25th, 2026.
However, while many viewed the event as a welcome development, aimed at preserving democracy, Femi Fani-Kayode, a Chieftain of the APC had raised serious concerns over the actions of the organizers.
According to the statements which were shared on his official X handle, the former minister for aviation pointed out that the meeting in Ibadan was to threaten others.
He further pointed out that the brazen threat had been duly noted and those behind the meeting should be aware of the consequences of their actions.
Femi Fani-Kayode, an astute political thinker and analyst, pointed out that the ‘Operation Wetie’ which the Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde promised will recur indicated that the opposition did not mean well for Nigeria.
While revisiting history, Femi Fani-Kayode disclosed that during the violent demonstration, no winner or loser emerged, rather, innocent lives were lost and countless properties destroyed.
However, he maintained that the APC cannot lose sleep over the threats posed by the opposition as only the will of the people will prevail in 2027.
