Wike Revokes Land Titles of Buhari Foundation, SGF, Ex-CJN, Others in FCT

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has revoked land titles held by several prominent individuals and entities, including the Muhammadu Buhari Foundation, former Chief Justice of Nigeria Walter Onnoghen, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume.

In a statement released on Thursday, Buhari’s spokesperson, Garba Shehu, clarified that the former president does not personally own the land in question. He explained that the plot was allocated in the name of the Muhammadu Buhari Foundation and was managed by individuals associated with it.

The land revocation is tied to non-payment of statutory fees and failure to settle the necessary Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) documents. A total of 762 plots in the Maitama District were affected by the revocation, which was carried out under Section 28 of the Land Use Act of 1978. Additionally, 614 other individuals and companies have been warned to settle their outstanding bills within two weeks to avoid similar action.

Among those affected are prominent figures such as Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, Governor of Kaduna State Uba Sani, and several former and current lawmakers.
