NSIB Seeks Partnership with Oyo State on Transport Safety Measures

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) is exploring collaborative opportunities with the Oyo State government to enhance transport safety and accident prevention within the state.
NSIB’s Director of Public Affairs and Family Assistance, Mrs. Bimbo Oladeji, revealed that the initiative was discussed during a courtesy visit by NSIB Director General Captain Alex Badeh Jr. and his team to Governor Seyi Makinde.
During the visit, Captain Badeh commended Governor Makinde’s leadership and commitment to infrastructure development, emphasizing the importance of integrating safety protocols across sectors, especially in transportation. Badeh highlighted NSIB’s mission to improve safety outcomes through thorough investigations, safety recommendations, and stakeholder engagement.
“We are here to express our admiration for your visionary leadership and to explore collaborative efforts to foster a culture of transport safety in Oyo State. By partnering with state governments, NSIB aims to ensure safety is prioritized in development initiatives,” Badeh said.
Governor Makinde welcomed the initiative, applauding NSIB’s efforts in enhancing transport safety nationwide. He expressed his administration’s willingness to leverage NSIB’s expertise, particularly in transportation and public safety. The governor reiterated his commitment to infrastructure development and underscored the importance of federal-state cooperation to achieve lasting safety improvements.
Both parties discussed mutual areas of interest, including the need for ongoing education and training on safety protocols and the importance of public awareness campaigns to instill a safety-conscious culture among citizens.
