Was-Lat School Holds 6th Biennial Inter-House Sports

To boost students’ competitive spirit and nurture talents, Was-Lat School has held its 6th biennial inter-house sports competition in Lagos, where Green House emerged the winner from the senior category of this year’s inter-house sports competition; Yellow House emerged the winner from the primary category.

Was-Lat School, located on Cole Street, Apongbon, Lagos Island, and at its permanent campus in Mowe, Ogun State, held the event at Campus Mini-Stadium Square, Lagos Island, on Tuesday, February 25th, 2024, featured track and field events, including students, staff, and parents marching past, relay races, catching the bus, a slipper race, chess, scrabble, ludo, and so on.

Giving his speech at the event, the director of studies, Dr. Wasiu O. Adumadeyin FIMC, NAPPS Emeritus president, said the 6th Biennial inter-house sport was a success; all the houses took time to practice and prepare, the parents supported morally and financially, and they played a major role in the success of the program.

He noted: the athletes composing themselves and demonstrated sportsmanship haven’t been briefed that the cheerful loser is the real winner. The Lagos State Sports Council was present and discovered some talent; they promised to nurture it to greatness.

Adumadeyin further recognised and appreciated all eminent personalities that graced the occasion and supported the program; their presence boosted the morale of the students and made them want to do more.

The four houses involved and kicked off the event with a colourful parade, Green House- ( Hon Hakeem Masha) Yellow House -(Hon Dolapo Badru), Blue House-(New Dawn Properties) and Pink House-(Taofeek Thomas) with the house queens and kings saluting the dignitaries present at the event .

Also, the event featured a baton exchange relay race for invited schools, including Mao Nur & Pry School and Jentad School. , Legacy Nur & Pry School Bolafade Nur & Pry School, Jufradol School Jolas School, Deen Master School, Mary Anne School and Was-Lat College Mowe. Similarly, the event also featured a sports quiz segment for parents, with winners winning recharge card gifts.

The event was supported by invited institutions Providus Bank, Morgan Nigeria, and New Dawn, with a lot of NAPPS dignitaries: High Chief Alaka Lookman, Lagos State NAPPS President; Alh. Olawale Amusa, Immediate Past President; Mr. Tunde Bejide, Chairman of the Education Board; Elder Kingsley Awam; and Alh. Jelili OwoLagos Island Chairman, Surulere Chairman, and Agege NAPPS Chairman.
