The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a remittance of over N6bn to the Nigerian government in 2024. According to the board’s weekly bulletin, JAMB generated a total of N22,996,653,265.25 in revenue, with N6,034,605,510.69 remitted to the government.
The board also revealed that a reduction of N1,500 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) form fees, multiplied by the number of candidates, increased the total remittance to N9,013,068,510.69.
Over the past seven years, under the leadership of Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, JAMB has contributed over N50bn to the national treasury. The board emphasized its commitment to transparency, sharing its financial performance for the year.
